Some might say this vanilla cream pie looks a bit like the Portuguese “Pasteis de nata/Belem”, but even if it is similar, it’s not quite the same. I make it with puff pastry and keep it very simple and very natural with real vanilla, no pudding powder, and no colorants.
Wheat flour - water - milk - butter (AOP Poitou-Charente) - eggs - cane sugar - Sel de Guérande - vanilla pod - corn starch
